A proposito
Boatshed Hamble are pleased to offer this Dutch Barge Sailing Klipper, built in 1888 from riveted iron and hardwood fittings. She was converted to a houseboat in the 1970's and the previous owner had circumnavigated the UK in her. She has since been extensively renovated including full spray foam insulation throughout. electrics and plumbing replaced using high quality fixtures and fittings.
The vessel is available with a residential mooring (for rent) situated in a beautiful secure boatyard community on the River Hamble - please see the video in the listing.
This houseboat boasts a thermal solar array which gives 240 litres of hot water (during the summer months this does not dip below 45% so offers free hot water!) On top of the rear canvas canopy are 6 solar panels giving you 2kw of power at peak.
Everywhere you look on this boat you can see that money has been well spent on maintaining her and this really is a barge that you can move straight into.
Laid out with two double cabins plus a third with bunk beds, a really bright saloon and chart room area thanks to the large skylights and there are separate heads and shower rooms. The whole boat has fantastic views out across the Hamble River and the SSSI areas of natural beauty with a large aft deck and centre deck areas which are perfect for entertaining. There is a workshop in the bow.
The residential mooring on the Hamble River is fully transferable and current mooring fees are £9,000 per annum (£750 per month).
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
